He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
Revelation 21:4This memorial website was created to remember our dearest and beloved brother
Conrad Ntchonganyi Atabong known by all as
Bobo born in Limbe,
Cameroon with his twin sister Constance Atabong Nkwantah
on
June 6, 1973 and passed away on
January 26, 2013. Bobo was a Special gift to The Atabong's Family.
Conrad Nchonganyi Nkem-Atabong (popularly and better known as Bobo) was born to late Mr. Michael Ajenganyi Atabong and Mrs Anastasia Asong Atabong on the 6th day of June 1973. He came to this earth accompanied by his beautiful twin sister now Mrs Constance Ngenyi Atabong Nkwantah of Boston, MA. Bobo and Constance, are the last born of Mr. and Mrs Atabong, younger siblings to Valentine Atabong of Limbe, Cameroon, Lady Kate Atabong Njeuma of Maryland, Mr. Nobert Atabong of Atlanta. Later in life he was crowned Nkem-Atabong, by our uncle and head of family FuaLebialem. He became the traditional head and successor of our family after our late father.
We were raised by our widowed mother, whose husband departed this world to be with God at a very tender age in 1974. Left with 5 little children all aged under 7, our mother ensured that our family bonded closely together and with so much love. We all grew up as a strong, solid family and saw our beloved mother labor for the love of her children to give us the best any child could have ever asked for.
Bobo was a very special child that God entrusted into our family. From childhood he needed a lot more attention so he could grow up to be a strong man. Indeed, he was the pulse, the heart beat of our family. He lived a full life because he was dearly loved by all of us. He was very handsome and carried a permanent smile on his face. He was a friend to all friends of his siblings and had a huge circle of people who just loved him for being Bobo. He was very peace-loving and always there for others. He was really the soul of our family. Bobo was the apple of my mother's eye, and she could never leave him alone for more than 6 months. Whenever she travelled abroad, she would quickly return to Cameroon and to Bobo.
Bobo Enjoyed Life, pictured above at a Club in Limbe. He loved to dance
and he danced with a huge smile.
Bobo was loved by his sisters and brothers. While we all went all over the world to look for greener pastures in Europe and USA, Bobo stayed behind because he never wanted to go through the headaches at any Embassy. He often said "if wuna want make I travel wuna go bring the visa" he refused to go to any Embassy for intervew. He became the Landlord and caretaker of our Estate.

He always looked forward to his siblings coming home to Limbe from abroad. He was so proud of all of us and talked about his sisters and brothers proudly to his friends all the time. We, his sisters and brothers made sure Bobo was fine and never lacked anything. He was known as the 'Bushfaller who never fell Bush"
His Twin sister Constance was so very protective of Bobo. He was very much a part of her life. If Bobo was hurting she would hurt even more. She would never rest if she learned Bobo was stressed in any way, shape or form. When he bled she bled spiritually. Their bond surpassed the imaginable. When Bobo was in love with a woman she would fall in love with her too and made sure she got the best because of her bond and love for her twin Bobo.

His last journey here on earth spanning from mid 2012 to his passing left us asking God why? Why Bobo of all people Why Papa God....? Those last steps were rough. After a viscious attack leaving him with a grievious eye injury he sustained 2012, he ended up loosing his left eye. Our Mom had to fly back home from America to go and take care of him. Bobo was so happy that Mom was back.
Bobo survived his pain because his family gave him nothing but love. Big Brother Vally Atabong was there to hold his hand and shield him until Mom got back. The out pouring of Love for Bobo from family and friends and the people of The City of Limbe really opened our eyes to know how prescious our sweet brother was to everyone. The gates of Limbe Regional hospital was jammed with friends trying to take a glimpse of him at the hospital after the brutal attack. The love and prayers saw him through those dark days of pain and suffering.

Bobo and The Lady-The Lady (as he called me) in Oct 2012, at our family home in Gardens, Limbe.
In October his one and only Grand Seour whom he called The Lady-The Lady (Kate) made a brief stop at home in Limbe to see Bobo. Bobo's message to all of us was very strong and powerful. Something we will hold on to forever. Those courageous words from our brother saying
' I get one eye Kate but i di see, I dey fine, I no die. Tell Consty and Nobert say I dey fine, wuna no over sorry me, wuna no cry I dey fine'..... We talked about getting a prosthetic eye and Bobo said Grand Seour just wait first. He explained that he went through so much pain when the eye was removed and needed a break before any more procedures.
To the villain who attacked our Peaceful brother, when asked if an arrest should be done, he said no " leave am make them go with their badluck, I never die, I still dey" no arrest was ever made.
Indeed he had no anger, he quickly moved on and quickly fell in love again and was living his life until that fateful morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!That fateful morning when the Sun Refused to Shine!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Behold that fateful morning on the 26th Day of January 2013, the phone calls started to pour in that our beloved brother had gone to meet the Lord. In a fatal accident at the dreaded Mile 2,9 from Kumba after attending a funeral of a friend, the friend whom he says took so much care of him when he lost his eye at Limbe Regional Hospital. Bobo said he could not miss that funeral for nothing. Their car over turned and Bobo did not survive the accident.
Bobo leaves behind his sweet mother Mama Anne Atabong of Gardens, Limbe, Siblings: Mr. Valentine Atabong of Nurses Quarters Limbe, former resident of Atlanta Ga, Lady Kate Atabong Njeuma of Maryland, Mr. Nobert Atabong of Atlanta GA, His Twin Sister Constance Atabong Nkwantah in Boston MA, his beloved In-Laws, nephiews Livita, Benkwants and Nkeng Nkeng, Nieces Danielle, Valentina, Michaela, Embelle and The Future, Uncles, Aunties, cousins and so many friends.
With the Love our mother gave us and the love our Father in Heaven taught us, we commit our most special brother and son to God's Kingdom. He was the most special gift God gave us , be it for just a brief moment.
Bobo Adieu, May Your Soul Rest In Peace. When you meet our father Michael Atabong tell him to continue to guide and protect us. You, Papa and Little Junior are our Angels and so are all our dearly departed. Please take your seat at the Right Hand of God The Father and Rest Bobo Rest in Peace!!!!!!!!!!!

BOBO'S FAVORITE SAYINGS
Bobo was a bit of a comedian and in his smile he make jokes of the most serious issues, making us laugh but sending the message accross.
Whenever he was broke and needed money:
'Grand Seour The Titanic is Sinking' You would laugh but you understand he needed something.
or when things were really Bad
'Grand Seour The Titanic has hit rock bottom' at this stage you would act pretty fast.

Our first encounter with Uncle Bobo was in June 2011, when we visited our Motherland Cameroon. Immediately we saw our Uncle Bobo, myself & my baby brother shouted DADDYYYYY. We couldn't tell the difference between our daddy and Uncle Bobo. Uncle Bobo's love towards us was incomparable. We thank god for the opportunity to taste and see a little bit of your undying & compassionate love towards us all. RIP UNCLE BOBO.
Uncle Bobo Embelle and I will never forget the few years we spent with you in Cameroon while we went to PNEU. I know how much you loved us because you always liked to play with us and made sure we were ok at all times . You made sure we had food to eat and we did our home work on time. When we came back to America you always called Mommy to ask how we are doing and we could talk to you. You called me Monyama and called Embelle Scolis Scolis. Those were our nick names you loved to call us by. We will miss you Uncle Bobo. We know that God will take good care of you now. Rest in Peace.
Livita and Embelle Njeuma, your Nephew and Niece

Bobo is a nick name that was given to my Lil brother Conrad Atabong when he was born.
He came to this world without a single strand of hair on his head. He never grew any hair for quite some time
when he was a baby while his twin sister had so much hair at birth. He was immediately called Krobo (pidgin English word for No Hair). Growing up, little kids could not quite pronounce the word Krobo very well and coined their own word 'Bobo' out of it.
Everyone started calling him Bobo and no one could even remember his name Conrad. He was very pleasant and always full of smiles
that the name just suited him so much. Rest in Peace my sweet little brothe Bobo. I know You are in God's Kingdom and still smiling like you always do.

A star has been plucked from the sky.
The sky is now dimmer.
It happened on Jan. 26th 2013.
A day, we will always remember.
Never again to see Bobo's smile light up the skies.
Never again to see him moonwalk across the street on Gardens, Mbende
as his friend "shout BoBoos."
Never again to hear him call me "The Youngest boy."
To the roaring sound of him screams.
A brother of the sun has been taken away.
But in our hearts his voice and love will always stay.
Conrad Nchonganyi Nkem-Atabong will now dance among the clouds.
And in the heavens, he will be proudly welcome by his Dad, granma,
my yongest Mom ( Mami Agnes Manjeh Taku) with host of others who went
ahead of him.
Bobo your kind heart, your smiling face...
Each step you took with such grace...
left an empty space
No one can ever take your place...
Our heads are bowed low
the pain trying not to show
Sitting here reminiscing
I began missing
you, my brother/friend...
eternal life, forever free...
A journey we will all take...
Your memory still shines bright
Inside us all
not allowing us to fall...
No One Can Ever Take Your Place.
REST IN PEACE DEAR BROTHER
